The “humanization” of pets is reshaping the global economy. According to a study by Future Market Insights, the Pet Care market is expected to double and reach €446 billion (USD 483 billion) by 2035, with an annual growth rate of 7.1%.
This profound transformation is directly benefiting the beauty and wellness industry. Pet owners, treating their companions as family members, now demand care standards inspired by human cosmetics: natural ingredients, transparency (clean label), and functional active ingredients. The grooming and hygiene segment, boosted by the rise of premium services and subscription models, is becoming a major field for innovation.
Driven by North America and Asia-Pacific, this sector is attracting massive investments (Nestlé Purina, Mars). For formulators, the challenge is clear: adapting cosmetic expertise (skin care, UV protection, microbiome) to a canine market that will account for more than half of global spending as early as 2025.
