Canine shampoos: a niche market becoming premium

The segment of shampoos and sprays for dogs is establishing itself as a strategic growth driver for the industry. According to the latest report from Research and Markets, the global market is expected to grow from $487 million in 2026 to over $730 million by 2032, with an annual growth rate of 7.12%.

This expansion is driven by consumers’ increasing demand for ingredient transparency and sustainable packaging. There is a trend toward finely segmented offerings, modeled on human hygiene standards. We are thus seeing increasingly technical segmentation of products (medicated formulas, dry shampoos, and targeted-diffusion sprays), clean-label solutions (natural compositions validated by veterinarians), and premiumization with high-performance care (hydration, skin barrier support, odor control treatments).

Thanks to the rise of online sales and subscription models, brands are focusing on traceability and innovative formulations to attract a clientele willing to invest heavily in the well-being of their companions.
