EWG certifies pet care products for the first time

The Environmental Working Group (EWG), a nonprofit organization recognized for its research on environmental health and for certifying safer, more transparent, and environmentally friendly products, is launching EWG Verified^®: Pet Grooming. This is the first standard ensuring that shampoos, conditioners, and cleansers for dogs and cats meet strict criteria for transparency and safety. Lil Luv Dog, co-founded by Stephanie Suganami and Cara Santana Leto, is the first brand to enter this category with two plant-based dry shampoos, free from sulfates, parabens, and synthetic fragrances. The initiative aims to close the regulatory gap in the industry and give pet owners confidence that their companions receive the same level of care and protection as they do themselves.
